25 weeks during Christmas

The holidays seemed to have come and gone way too fast this year. With work crazy busy for both Kelly & I and my Mom & Ronnie settling into their new life in Georgia it was tough to get into the Christmas spirit. We managed to put up all the holiday decorations in a jiffy about 1 1/2 weeks before the week of Christmas. It didn't help that it has been super warm here at a whopping 70 degrees.

Jamie came in to spend the Holidays with the Nyquist clan. It was awesome!
We really don't see he enough! Our house was full, the Manuels in the guest suite downstairs and the Bruck in the guest room upstairs. We love every minute of it! Jamie, Kel and I rolled a whole bunch of egg rolls for Christmas Eve.

We celebrated Feliz Navidad at our favorite local Mexican Restaurant. I love that our table fills up with so many smiling faces and little Kate running around the table. As usual, the night was full of love and laughter.

Christmas Eve was spent at the Donges' with family and friends.
Good friends came in town for the holidays from Utah, Dallas and New York City.
My love enjoying the holidays
There will be three of us in our Christmas photo next year!
The kids had a blast as usual playing all sorts of game.
LB enjoyed playing video games with his uncles.
A special holiday selfie with LB, Charlie and Hattie.
They are growing up way too fast.
My mom and Ronnie stopped by to say hello before the went to midnight mass.
I love that they will be living in Georgia so we can be together for celebrations and holidays!
We rose bright and early to open presents from Santa. Ho Ho Ho!
Our little boy "Sir" Philip Ashton Nyquist is so darn lucky and he hasn't even arrived yet.
He received so many presents from family near and far.
Merry Christmas Lovie!
We will be trading in our silent nights for a bundle of joy.

The Manuels have arrived!

A bittersweet time for my mom and Ronnie. They sold their condo which they have lived in for 10+ years. Here's a photo of them heading to lunch after their closing.
We are extremely lucky that they have decided to move to Georgia to be closer to us and our upcoming bundle of joy. Luckily Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. are only a short flight away.
You would have thought that they would have been stressed out with the move and exhausted. However they took their time driving from Arlington, VA down to good old Georgia.
The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day.
Callie was excited for the arrival of our new tenants.
A great way to start the holiday season.
Callie is ready to be spoiled with walkies, sweet potato and lots of snuggles.
Lots of new memories will be shared with the Manuels.

24 weeks and Clumsy

It's official, I have become clumsy.
Kelly and I were enjoying our Sunday afternoon outside when our dog decided to run up the driveway and start barking at two dogs on a walk. Side note- Callie is very protective of our home, she won't bite but she will let you know our home is her territory.
Without hestitation I sprinted up the driveway and ran after her. I should have known better and walked up there calm so she wouldn't sense my fear.
For a split second I forgot that I am top heavy these days and I leaned over to grab her and fell.
Down I went, I tried to brace my fall on my right hand and knee.
It worked, I avoided falling on my big ole belly.
Callie was fine but I was a hot mess.
I couldn't feel our little boy kick as he normally would at night.
I figured it was better to be safe than sorry so I scheduled a ultrasound first thing Monday morning.
He was just fine and I had nothing to worry about...just as Kelly assured me.
Baby boy was moving around just fine and as healthy as could be.
Thank goodness for technology and being able to take a peak at our growing peanut.
That looks like a mighty long leg to me, maybe sports will be in his future.
 Keep growing little Nyquist.

22 weeks

These past few weeks have felt like that are flying by.
I have worked out a little more and have more energy to get through the day.
I even made an appearance at a local Dickinson College Alumni event.
Lucky me it was a paint and sip just down the street from our house.
I love all things DIY and if it's a holiday theme even better!
The little fur baby is enjoying her snoogle as much as I am.
This pillow was worth every penny for a good night sleep.
Let's hope this energy continues throughout the remaining weeks of my second trimester.

Let the building begin!

Kelly and I are slowly preparing for our baby boy's arrival.
We took the first steps and bought a dresser & side table.
Next we ordered the convertible crib. Yikes, this just got real!
Lucky us Kel is good at putting together furniture.
I supervised, while Callie investigated the nursery piece by piece.
It will take some time but she will love her baby boy and protect him
as she has protected us these 6 years.
This Nyquist home is filling up with all new baby furniture, clothes, and toys.
Our baby is so loved already!
